The first annual One of a Kind Spring Show opens tomorrow in Chicago at The Mart (222 W Merchandise Mart Plaza) just in time for Mother’s Day shopping and more.
The three-day show, April 29–May 1, features 300 artists selling their wares, fashion shows, gourmet demonstrations, live musical performances by the Old Town School of Folk Music and a new collaboration with Chicago’s Lillstreet Art Center.
Here are the highlights:
Lillstreet Art Center, a Chicago institution that has been supporting the Chicago art community for 40 years, will host complimentary demonstrations, workshops and hands-on experiences for both kids and adults. Shoppers will have an opportunity to preview some of Lillstreet’s unique class offerings including ceramics, metals, drawing and painting, textiles and printmaking. The Old Town School of Folk Music will provide live music at the Patio Bar, located in the center of the show floor. Food along with cooking demonstrations by The Chopping Block and Gourmet artisans will take place at the Gourmet Market on the west side of the show floor.
The One of a Kind Show will be hosting runway fashion shows featuring women’s wear, jewelry and accessories. The three fashion shows are scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. on the Fashion Stage on the east side of the show floor.
Shoppers will find a wide range of products including accessories, bath & body, ceramics, fashion, fiber art, furniture, glass, gourmet, home, jewelry, kids, metal, mixed media, paintings, photography, sculpture and wood. Click here for a list of artists exhibiting at the show.
Fine Art Gallery
Museum ready pieces can viewed and purchased at the Fine Art Gallery at the center of the show floor. The gallery will feature a curated exhibition of painting and sculpture featured at the show.
