We made it through the holidays and now we can look forward to a whole new year of our favorite events plus a pretty impressive line-up of new ones.
Looking into our crystal ball for January, here’s what we see.
Tomorrow we get the details on the ninth annual Restaurant Week and will pass them on to you.
Over the holidays, we met with Dylan Lauren at her sleek new Dylan’s Candy Bar store on the Mag Mile.
Daughter of designer Ralph Lauren, Dylan has some amazing designs of her own and big plans for the future–hers and the Dylan brand. We will be sharing what we found in our interview, “20 Questions with Dylan Lauren” later this week.
Theatre Week 2016 is just around the corner. We’ll give you the skinny on what the hottest tickets will be and how to get them.
We look forward to previewing the upcoming theater productions coming to Chicago this winter that we are excited about. They may or may not be discounted (for Theatre Week)–but should be worth the tab whatever it is.
Have you been to the Field Museum recently? If not, we will give you three reasons why you should go.
Looking for some laughs? The 15th Annual Sketch Comedy Festival is coming to town this Thursday. We will be sharing the details then.
In December, Show Me Chicago’s sister blog, Chicago Eats, reviewed Alex Stupak’s Taco’s cookbook and showed readers how to make their own handmade tortillas. This month, we will review some of Chicago’s taquerias where you can enjoy your favorite tacos without the fuss. If you are trying to take off a few pounds or just trying to eat healthier, you may want to check in at Chicago Eats later this month for our review of the just published “brodo” a bone broth cookbook–which is being hailed by some as “the new green juice”–less calories more health benefits.
Later this month, Show Me Chicago will check out the winter festival scene which relies heavily on comfort food and craft beer. We will be putting together our list of “winter” festivals including doughnut fest (January 31st) around the middle of January.
Because nothing ever stays the same we will be updating our popular Museum Free days post for 2016…asap.
We will also keep track of the many new openings in the works for this year from hotels to entertainment and cultural centers.
Stay tuned, 2016 looks to be a very good year.
