It’s “Lights, Camera, Action” as two popular television series, NBC’s Chicago Fire and ABC’s Betrayal will be stopping traffic and drawing crowds when they hit the “mean” streets of Chicago on Monday.
Blood, bodies falling from the sky, accidents and more are in all a day’s work for the massive crews and actors on location in Chicago–the city that’s becoming the film mecca of the Midwest.
Don’t panic if you hear gunfire or see what looks like someone jumping into the water in the area of the Chicago River and LaSalle St, its just ABC shooting some scenes for Betrayal. The Betrayal filming will take place in front of Fulton’s Restaurant on Chicago’s Riverwalk between Dearborn and LaSalle all day Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12.
Expect simulated gunfire, the use of stuntmen and a dummy for the big fall into the River in front of Fulton’s Restaurant. But, no worries, Chicago Police Department Marine Unit will be in the vicinity to monitor and provide appropriate services.
Traffic impact for the Betrayal filming should be minimal with no streets closed. However you may want to park your wheels elsewhere as many street metered spaces will be occupied by equipment and crews with generic congestion expected in the vicinity along Kinzie (from LaSalle to Dearbon), LaSalle (from Kinzie to the River), Lower St. Clair (from Illinois to Lower Kinzie), Lower North Water (from Lower Michigan to St. Clair) and Upper Wacker (from LaSalle to Clark).
The NBC television series Chicago Fire will be filming a scene in the fast lane on East Congress Drive. Early risers can catch the action starting at 4 a.m. on Monday, November 11 (through approximately 3:30 p.m.) The scene scheduled to be shot will feature firemen responding to a truck accident with debris on the roadway in the area of 100 E. Congress Drive. There will be street closures Eastbound on Congress Drive between Michigan and Columbus with Chicago Police and Fire personnel on site to manage traffic control.
Although, no details are available as of today, it looks like there’s more filming scheduled on Wednesday in the area of 101 East Erie St. and 25 W. Hubbard as a special request has been made from the Chicago Film Office for parking on both sides of Rush from Ontario to Huron; both sides of Erie from Wabash to Rush; South side of Hubbard from Clark to State and East side of Dearborn from Kinzie to Illinois from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
