Millennium Park Summer Film Series

Millennium Park Summer Film Series offers free movies on their state of the art screen in Jay Pritzker Pavilion beginning at dusk. Tonight’s movie: Moulin Rouge.

Tuesdays on the Terrace

The Museum of Contemporary Art offers free live jazz concerts every Tuesday during the summer at their Tuesdays on the Terrace event. Food and beverages are available for purchase. 220 E. Chicago Ave.  5:30 to 8 p.m.

Sidebar Comedy Show

Riverview Tavern will feature a weekly Tuesday night comedy show highlighting five local comics. The Sidebar Comedy show is the newest stand-up showcase to rise up out of Chicago’s now legendary comedy scene. Every Tuesday, guests are invited to catch an eclectic mix of local rising stars and nationally touring headliners as they bring a night of laughter to the side showroom at Riverview Tavern. Show-goers will also enjoy Tuesday night specials including $4 Midwest beers and half-priced appetizers.  Doors open at 8:30 p.m., show begins at 9 p.m.  $5 cover, 1958 W. Roscoe St.

Neighborhood Night at Gene Siskel Film Center

The first-ever Neighborhood Night at Gene Siskel Film Center welcomes workers, visitors, and area residents to experience the unique cinema. Attendees will enjoy being a member for the night paying only $6 per screening and a reception courtesy of Whole Foods Market.  Screenings will be at 6:00 and 8:00 pm with the reception from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.

The showtimes on July 16 are:
• 6:00 pm: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
• 6:00 and 8:00 pm: The Look of Love
• 8:00 pm: The Grave of the Fireflies
• 7:30-9:00 pm: reception for all ticketholders
All screenings are at the Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, located at 164 N. State St.
