The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead at Writer's Theatre: See One Actress Transform Into Seven Characters.

Chicago, IL. Wednesday, June 6, 2012. The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead written by Robert Hewett and directed by Joseph Hanreddy, is now playing at Writer’s Theatre in their intimate Books on Vernon space.  The play is the perfect showcase for the talents of veteran actress Deborah Staples who transforms, on stage, into seven quirky characters ranging from a 4-year-old boy to an elderly lady.

The story revolves around a desperate housewife who suspects her husband of cheating.  It uses multiple narrative voices to show different perspectives as seen through the eyes of each character. Staples on-stage transformations are amazing to watch. You can preview her transformations in the Gallery below. The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead runs through July 29, 2012.

Writers’ Theatre, 664 Vernon, Glencoe.  847 242 6000.
Running time: 2 hours, 15 minutes with one intermission.
Tickets: $45 to $65
Parking: Free street parking, easily available.
