The Ten Top Reasons not to miss this event.

10. Do you have kids?

You’ll find something for everyone from soft baby books to teen reads.

9. Are you a collector (or a hoarder)?

Pick up one or two rare books, if you are a collector, or bring boxes or a wagon and hoard to your heart’s content at a fraction of what you would pay for the books elsewhere.

8. Are you economically challenged (or a cheapskate)?

Many books are new or like new…they crack when they open.  If you are looking for inexpensive gifts, you can find many books at this sale that will fool the receiver into thinking that you bought them new.

7. Do you want to impress your boss with a gourmet meal?

If you need to impress someone in your life with your culinary prowess stop by the gigantic cookbook section where past finds have included:  the Barefoot Contessa series, Rick Bayless, Julia Child, Alice Waters, the Marshall Field cookbook, ethnic cookbooks, books for every holiday and more, more, more.

6.  Are you desperate for something awesome to tweet about?

Go to the sale then tweet your followers with 140 characters-worth of your exclusive finds.

5. Are you redecorating on a budget?

Choose from an exquisite collection of coffee table books for your living room and select some of the beautifully bound classic editions for your bookshelves.

4. Are you a teacher?

The Friends of the Lake Forest Library love teachers.  How much, you ask? Just bring your teacher ID on Saturday, September 17 and you’ll find out. (10% off of your entire order, that’s how much). And here is the best part, the books don’t have to be for your students–they can be for you.

3. Are you planning a trip (or just an armchair traveler)?

Many of the donors to the Friends of the Lake Forest Library are world travelers with amazing, expensive travel books which they give to the Friends for this sale. Check out the extensive collection of travel books and I’m guessing you will  find a book for almost anywhere in the world.

2. Do you like to stay home?

You can stock up on all the best-sellers, learn a foreign language, watch your favorite movies on DVD, learn how to quilt, paint, try pilates, lose weight, invest in the stock market, sell your books on ebay and more with your choice from the eclectic collection of items available at the Friends of the Lake Forest Library book sale.

1.  And the Number ONE reason to go to the Friends of Lake Forest Library book sale is…

You can spend as much or as little money and time as you want for a fun all-ages outing that everyone will enjoy. So get your 2-year-old, your 12-year-old, your teenager, grandma, Uncle Brett, your best friend (unless it’s the dog) and get on the right page with your life…at you know where.
