Chicago, Tuesday, September 6, 2011. The MCA has announced their line-up of stage performances for the 2011-12 season. The 15th annual Stage Season kicks off on September 15, 2011 with the world premiere of Still In Play: A Performance of Getting Ready, by Chicago’s Curious Theatre Branch that reveals a behind-the-scenes view of the hour before a performance begins. The situations that unfold by the 17-member, multi-generational ensemble are inspired by real experiences and rituals within the company. The performance features live music by ensemble-comprised Crooked Mouth Band. It was developed by Jenny Magnus during a year-long residency at the MCA. Stefan Brun is the director.
Nineteen innovative and eclectic acts comprise the MCA Stage Season which will continue through June 10, 2012 at the MCA (220 East Chicago Avenue). The SMC gallery highlights nine of the upcoming productions that promise an interesting cocktail of performances from theater and dance to music and art.
