Green City Market Chef's BBQ Benefit 2011: Chicago's Grandest Picnic.

Green City Market Chef's BBQ Benefit 2011: Chicago's Grandest Picnic.

Chicago, Monday, July 18, 2011. Nearly 100 of Chicago’s Top Restaurants featuring a who’s who of the city’s celebrity chefs will be preparing your dinner at the highly anticipated Green City Market Chef’s BBQ Benefit this Thursday from 5:30p.m. to 8p.m.

This grand picnic has become one of the hottest tickets of Chicago’s summer event calendar.  The food and drink fest is held annually in July in picturesque Lincoln Park, with the fab Chicago skyline as a backdrop. Guests can mingle and sample the creations of nearly 100 of Chicago’s top chefs including: Elysian Hotel’s Danny Grant & Jason McLeod; Frontera Grill’s Rick Bayless; The Girl and the Goat’s Stephanie Izard; Hot Chocolate’s Mindy Segal & Aric Miech; Naha’s Carrie Nahabedian; Four Season’s Kevin Hickey & Scott Gerken; Cafe Spiaggia’s Sarah Gruenberg, Erik Freeberg & Tony Mantuano along with rising star Jared Vancamp from Old Town Social–just to name-drop a few.

For two-and-a-half hours, and a $100 ticket, it’s an all you want to eat and drink extravaganza. All dishes served at the BBQ feature items offered from the bounty of the market utilizing meat, produce and other products combined with the culinary magic of the participating chefs. In addition to food, locally made beer, wine, hand-crafted cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

All profits from ticket sales go to programming that provides information and education on how to eat better and live a healthier lifestyle.  You can learn more about those programs at Green City Market.

Tickets are available online and at this Wednesday’s Market at the Information Booth. Please note: Tickets will not be available at the BBQ event. Ticket Prices:  Ages 12+: $100.00 (includes entry and all food/beverages); Ages 12 and under: $25.00; VIP Tickets:  $250.00 (includes early entry and cocktail reception); VIP Tables: $2,500* (The VIP Heirloom table is $2,500 and seats ten).  VIP tables can be purchased by calling the Green City Market office at 773 880 1266.
