Chicago, Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Just in time for the first day of summer Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Bar and Grill opened their doors yesterday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a salty margarita toast and a sensory restaurant tour for guests. Even with the threatening weather the Parrot Heads were out en mass.
It’s all about attitude–not latitude.
Anyone in Chicago yearning for an island adventure no longer has to leave town. Just start wastin’ away in Margaritaville at Navy Pier with a giant salty margarita in one hand and a cheeseburger in paradise in the other…Hello Summer…and what a great escape to look forward to on a snowy winter day in Chicago.
Margaritaville Bar and Grill will feature classic American and
island inspired cuisine. In addition to the signature “Cheeseburger in Paradise,”
the menu offers fresh fish, fish tacos, steaks, nachos, salads, regional favorites, a child’s menu and, of course, margaritas, boat drinks, frozen concoctions and ice cold beer.
Margaritaville Bar and Grill is a touch of the tropics with the feel of a comfortable Chicago neighborhood bar. The atmosphere is laid back and intimate indoors while outdoors guests can view the boardwalk and Lake Michigan from a weather protected Tiki Bar and outdoor deck while listening to live music.
Fins Up Chicago.
“I couldn’t be more excited about Margaritaville arriving on the shores of Lake Michigan,” said Jimmy Buffett. “From my earliest days in the city playing the Quiet Knight on Belmont, to the pinnacle of live performances singing in front of the ivy wall at Wrigley Field, I have had a long and wonderful history and affection for the people, the music, the art and the food of the Windy City. I have always thought of Chicago as a beach town, a pretty big one, but still a beach town. I am happy to call Navy Pier home to Margaritaville. Fins Up Chicago.”
