New Public Art Installation on Chicago's Mag Mile Celebrates the Heart with 100 Giant "Hearts a Bluhm."

Hearts to Bloom in the Snow.
Monday, January 31, 2011.  One hundred artist designed giant hearts will be in bloom along North Michigan Avenue for the entire month of February.

Big-hearted individuals and corporations including the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, Blackhawks, Bulls and others across the city are supporting Northwestern Memorial’s Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute’s (BCVI) “Hearts a Bluhm” heart health awareness campaign which launches this February.
Each heart celebrates American Heart Month and Valentine’s Day.  The over-sized acrylic hearts (about 5-feet tall), designed by Columbia College Chicago artists and many signed by local celebrities, contain heart health facts and tips.
The hearts will be displayed in the planters on The Magnificent Mile from Oak Street to 400 North Michigan Avenue.  Through February 28.
