Wednesday, January 12, 2011. With the State of Illinois income taxes getting ready to take an even bigger bite out of your take home pay, the time is right to save with some of Chicago’s free cultural offerings. Yesterday, Show Me Chicago featured free winter programs with the CSO and Chicago Civic Orchestra. Today, we will take a look at some freebies the Art Institute of Chicago is providing for its patrons.
Regular admission at the Art Institute of Chicago is $18 for adults ($16 Chicago residents). However, from now through February 4, 2011, the museum will be granting visitors free admission all day on weekdays–Mondays through Fridays–including Thursday and Friday evenings when the Museum is open until 8p.m.
In addition to the free admission, the AIC offers many no cost programs. See the slide show below for highlights of ten upcoming programs and talks that are free. Art Institute of Chicago, 111 S. Michigan Ave.
