PEPSI® TALL SHIPS® CHICAGO 2010: Kick Off First Full Day with a Marching Procession

The HMS Bounty built for the 1962 movie, Mutiny on the Bounty, can be viewed at this year’s Tall Ship Festival.

Wednesday, August 25, 2010.

WHAT:                 Crew Welcome Walk. and Dock Street March, 11:00a.m.

Tall Ship crew members, Morgan Park High School Marching Band, Chicago Sports Teams Mascots, Navy Pier Buccaneers and Patch the Pirate Dog – the Navy Pier mascot – and his sidekick, Pickle, will commence the first full-day of festivities at the Pepsi Tall Ships Chicago 2010 Festival at Navy Pier with a first-of-its-kind Dock Street marching procession to honor the tall ships that have come to Chicago from around the world. 

WHERE:               Navy Pier Dock Street Entrance (Near Gateway Park & Bubba Gump Shrimp Company) Procession to head east along the South Dock to East End Plaza.

MORE:                 The Tall Ships Festival features “Six Days of a Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience.”  It is a celebration of Chicago’s rich maritime heritage, showcasing 20 majestic and historic tall ships from around the world, including Canada, Germany and The Netherlands. All of the vessels and the festivities will be located exclusively at Navy Pier.
