The 55th annual Ginza Holiday brings a celebration of Japanese culture to the Old Town neighborhood.  The event offers entertainment, demonstrations, crafts and traditional Japanese cuisine including open pit charcoal grilled chicken teriyaki, premium Japanese beer and more.   Midwest Buddhist Temple, 435 W. A great combo, rock and ribs, at the brand new Rockin’ on the River Ribfest. The three day fest will feature a Dodge Power Wheels driving course, moon jumps and a special performance by the Million Dollar Quartet.  11:00a.m. to 10:30a.m. 560 W. Grand Ave., Chicago River.  312 445 5100. Free general admission until 3p.m. after 3p.m.,  $10 admission.  Through Sunday.

The Chicago White Sox try to claw their way back to first place in their division when they take on Detroit tonight at the Cell.  7:10p.m.

The Bud Billiken Parade and Picnic.

81 years and still going strong. The Bud Billiken Parade steps off at 10:00a.m. today. The crowd will see more than 350 units comprised of floats, marching bands, dance teams, vehicles and national celebrities and more.  Parade, King Drive from 39th to Washington Park. Picnic follows at Washington Park.  Bronzeville.

This year’s AIR AND WATER SHOW celebrity is VINCE VAUGHN.  Vaughn will kick off the show at 11a.m. as he appears out of thin air performing a tandem jump with members of the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights above North Avenue Beach. Today’s show goes from 11a.m. to 4p.m.  Oak Street Beach to Fullerton.

Armenia Fest.  Get a taste of Armenia with two days of Armenian music, food family activities and more on the grounds of St. Gregory Armenian Church. 6700 W. Diversey.  Through tomorrow.
