DAVE MATTHEWS COMES TO WRIGLEYVILLE.
Dave Matthews Band announced yesterday that they’ve added two very special concerts to their 2010 tour schedule–Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18 at historic Wrigley Field.  Singer/songwriter Jason Mraz will join the bill for both dates.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR.
Tickets for the September dates will go on sale on SATURDAY, JULY 17 at 10:00a.m. Tickets are priced at $85.00, $75.00, $65.00 and $49.50 and will be available at www.tickets.com or by calling 1 800-THE-CUBS.  Tickets will not be sold at

the Wrigley Field Box Office.  There is a six ticket limit per customer.  Additional fees may apply. NOTE: Tickets to Warehouse members will be available earlier.

Dave Matthews Band joins a short but growing list of elite musical acts that have performed at Wrigley, including Jimmy Buffett, The Police, Billy Joel & Elton John and Rascal Flatts.

In the past decade, Dave Matthews Band was the biggest ticket seller worldwide, selling upwards of 11 million tickets to 547 shows from 2000 to 2009, according to Billboard Boxscore. The band has sold over 17 million tickets since its inception.

The announcement of the Wrigley Field concerts comes just weeks after Dave Matthews Band told fans via its website that after two decades of near-constant touring the group will be taking a year off in 2011.  In a statement posted on his website, Matthews said, “We’re excited to make this summer (2010) one of our best tours yet and look forward to returning to the road in 2012.

Hopefully fans have forgotten or will forgive them for their 2005 visit to the Windy City when Matthew’s bus driver dumped 800 pounds of raw sewage into the Chicago River and about 100 people on an open-deck tourist boat that got in the way.

OTHER WRIGLEY FIELD NEWS.
The third annual “Road to Wrigley” minor league baseball game at Wrigley Field will be played tonight, July 7 at 7:05p.m. between the Peoria Chiefs and the Kane County Cougars.  Tickets are reasonably priced and available at Cubs.com or the Wrigley Field box office.
