Sean Wyte is an up and coming R & B, Soul, Urban artist from Chicago that is making his mark in the world by writing his own ticket. Sean’s new Album “No Labels” was released on Jan 20th 2019 and is available for purchase on all digital outlets (iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, Spotify, etc). I sat down with Sean to talk about the music industry.
Who are your influences?
SW: My influences are songs from mostly the early 90’s like Avant, Joe, Donnell Jones, Slique Jay Adams, Carl Thomas, Jaheim, also Stevie Wonder & Robin Thicke.
What is your new album about?
SW:“No Labels” is about a relationship between a man and woman that tells a story from beginning to end. It starts with “Where You At?”, “Come Home With Me”, “I’m So Ready”, “Gold”, “Tap Out”, “Easy To Love You”, and finally “No Labels”.“Easy to Love You” was the first single on the album which I wrote and arranged.
How did you learn to arrange music?
SW:I learned how to emulate the gifts and talents that God has given me by hard work and practice.
Tell me about your experience with MC Brainz.
SW: We recorded “Where You At?” together. I have my own studio and so does he. So it was only natural that we perform it on tour together.
What is the difference of corporate vs. independent music labels?
SW:Independent is the way to go for most people. Sometimes bigger companies have unreal expectations for artists to meet. Especially, newer artists. Being independent allows the artists more creative control and freedom to work with whomever, wherever they want.
