After today’s practice, Blackhawk’s Head Coach Joel Quenneville told the media that Patrick Kane will miss three weeks with a lower body injury, and that he “hope(s) that’s the max.” Kane injured his left leg hitting the boards awkwardly after a hit from Flame’s defenseman Corey Sarich.  image courtesy of TSN.ca The Hawks will have... Coaching the difference in Hawks, Canucks rivalry

Let’s face it, the Hawks have dominated the Vancouver Canucks like no other opponent.  In addition to two consecutive Western Conference Semi-Final series wins, the Hawks have taken it to the Canucks in the regular season, often in embarrassing fashion.  Roberto Luongo has been pulled repeatedly, and he’s broken his stick in anger.  Ryan Kesler... Tough offseason could finally be over for Hawk fans

Monday, the Blackhawks officially announced the one year re-signing of defenseman Nick Boynton, likely putting an end to the roller coaster ride that was the 2010 offseason.  The second the Blackhawks lifted the Stanley Cup, everyone knew there would be changes, but no one could have expected this. Adam Burish signs with Dallas Stars

Hawks winger and fan favorite Adam Burish has signed with the Dallas Stars.  The Hawks failed to tender him an offer, and he was signed as an unrestricted free agent.  Burish had 4 points in 18 regular season games last season for the Hawks, and was held scoreless in 15 playoff games.

Burish provides immediate impact for Blackhawks

Adam Burish had not played a shift all season until last night.  It took him all of eight seconds to make his presence felt.  Burish stepped on the ice for his first shift, headed to the net (naturally), and put a puck in front for Patrick Sharp, who buried it, giving the Hawks a 1-0... As deadline approaches, Blackhawks can't hesitate

The NHL trade deadline comes this Wednesday, and the Hawks are expected to be active.  They have one of the top teams in the league, but are staring down salary cap issues this summer, and a weak link that is weighing heavy on everyone’s mind.  The Hawks, as currently constructed, are good enough to win... UPDATE : Kane injury not a concussion...Hawks win big

While the Hawks were lighting up the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-0 Sunday night, Patrick Kane was forced to watch.  He suffered what the Hawks are calling an “upper body injury” after tripping and hitting his head on the ice in the 1st period.  As the Hawks winger was chasing a loose puck, his legs were... Something is missing with these Blackhawks

Call it nit picking, but I think there’s an element the Blackhawks had last year that they are lacking this season. It’s not scoring, it’s not leadership, but it’s that certain spark.  The Hawks have looked asleep at the wheel a few times this season.  Fortunately, they have the talent to overcome a lackluster period...
