Blackhawks waive Nick Boynton

The Chicago Blackhawks have placed defenseman Nick Boynton on waivers.  This likely indicates the Hawks are close to making a deal, likely for a defenseman.  Once Boynton clears, he will likely be sent down to Rockford, eliminating his $500,000 salary from the cap.   It’s no secret the Hawks have been seeking a penalty killing defenseman. ... Late collapses becoming a trend for tired Hawks defense

Hawks acquire Boynton as Niemi and Huet struggle again
