Marian Hossa will play his first game since late November when he suffered a lower body injury after colliding with Nick Boynton in practice, and it couldn’t come at a better time. The Hawks are in their best stretch of the season. They’ve won three impressive games in a row, beating the Red Wings, Kings and Predators. They seem to be finding their stride AND getting healthy at the same time.
Patrick Kane was placed on injured reserve today, but he’s very close to returning. Injured Reserve is retroactive to the day of the injury, so Kane is eligible to come OFF IR as soon as he’s ready to play.
With Corey Crawford under the weather today, Marty Turco will get the start. The Hawks have recalled goaltender Hannu Toivonen from Rockford in case of emergency. Toivonen was 5-5-3 with a 3.12 GAA and 1 shutout for the Hogs this season.
