The Spring market has opened with lots of activity! I have a new listing at 2335 N. Commonwealth, a classic building with elegant, roomy layouts in each unit, just go to http://www.melindajakovich.com to see it. The building is just steps from the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Lake. You can see how spacious the units are in the photo – just look at the spacious Dining Room!
And then I will soon be working on a project at the exclusive 9 West Walton address. I have a 3 Bedroom unit coming up in April in this beautiful building, which is the newest high rise in the Gold Coast. You may have heard of 9 West Walton, since earlier in the year a Chicago financier bought four entire floors of space in the building!
Here’s yet another one! As they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. And after many years I am back in my old neighborhood, helping a buyer purchase a new home in the beautiful high rise at 30 West Oak, a stunning building at a great location. I lived for years at 55 West Delaware, home of the most congenial doormen in Chicago.
I know this area so well, and still love its many special attractions, such as having Pizza at Pizano’s on State, where Norm Van Lier of Chicago Bulls fame used to hold court, loving the breakfasts at the Tempo on Chestnut, home of the fluffiest omelettes in town, and shopping with the help of the friendly staff at Potash supermarket on State Street. And who can fail to mention one of Chicago’s best institutions, the Newberry Library that looks out over Chicago’s famous Washington Square Park, also fondly known as Bughouse Square!
Exciting news about the Joffrey Ballet! On April 25, the Joffrey will present “MidSummer Night’s Dream”, originally performed by the Royal Swedish Ballet. No, not a takeoff on Mr. Shakespeare’s play, but a celebration in the language of Dance for the longest day of the Year. In Swedish lore, magical events take place as the long day goes by and the people celebrate more and more, until the border between the world of mere mortals and the kingdom of the supernatural becomes blurred. See this amazing world come to life in the Joffrey’s North American premier of this remarkable work from renowned Choreographer Alexander Ekman. Just go to http://www.joffrey.org to learn more!
