The "Lagrange Legacy" in Chicago!

The Chicago skyline has received major contributions from the architect Lucien Lagrange over the years. Of course I am a little biased because of my relationship with him but the list of well known buildings goes on and on, with recent beauties like 2550 Lincoln Park and the Ritz Carlton Residences as well as older buildings that clearly have withstood the test of time such as the Park Hyatt and Erie on the Park, shown above.

He is even lauded for buildings that were designed but never built, such as the beautiful X/O building that was to rise in the South Loop!

“There’s no place like Home” goes the saying, and it struck me to try and add up the number of Chicago families who have found a home in one of the numerous Chicago area buildings designed by Lucien. I did a quick survey on the Internet and added up over 2,200 homes and Hotel units, with 2550 Lincoln Park, shown above, having the most residential units at 218 condos and 5 single family homes! His legacy continues to grow, but by anyone’s estimation Lucien has made a significant mark on our wonderful City.

I wanted to congratulate Leslie Hindman for being selected and honored by Landmarks Illinois as a Legendary Landmark recently at their gala event on March 7 at the Four Seasons. I also wanted to make a belated mention of another Legendary Landmark from the 2012 event, my friend Grace Barry, who has given so much to Chicago over the years. Leslie is top row second from the right in the group photo and Grace is between two other famous Chicagoans, Father Jack Wall and Miles White.

Chicago Real Estate is roaring back with a vengeance! I was privileged to be selected to list 1815 South Prairie for rental, shown above, it is in one of the most famous neighborhoods in Chicago. Also, I am loving my new ‘home’ at Prudential Rubloff, where I was recently selected to the 2012 President’s Club and also honored as being a “Top Producer” for February.

As I am always quick to say, my clients are the real Royalty in my world, none of this would be possible if not for the clients and friends I have made over the years!

Have a great Spring!
