I was so gratified to be invited to the recent Landmarks Illinois Gala on March 14. The triptych above from their website has images from three of the most important buildings in Chicago. I was the guest of one of the Honorees, Grace Barry, who has done so much for Chicago in her recent role as President of the Economic Club of Chicago.
The other Honoree was Father Jack Wall, shown above, of Old St. Pat’s Church, for his work in directing the rehabilitation of Catholic churches around the entire country.
One of the main benefactors of the Landmarks group is Richard Driehaus, above, who made the introductory remarks for Father Wall prior to his award.
Besides supporting Grace as she was honored at the Landmarks Gala, she has also shown faith in my Real Estate business by allowing me to list her beautiful home to the Chicagoland market. It is located at 2440 North Lakeview, in a beautiful Co-Op building initially built in 1927. The building, shown above, has a location that is one of the best in Chicago, situated across the street from beautiful Lincoln Park to the East with the nightlife and special restaurants of Clark Street only a block away to the West.
I have always loved watching the excitement of the NCAA Basketball March Madness. I recall long ago when a young North Carolina player scored the winning basket of the 1982 NCAA championship on his way to stardom in the NBA. That skinny young man, #23 shown above taking that winning shot, became one of the best to ever play in the NBA!
And yes, the listing I was hinting about in my previous Blog is the beautiful Triplex Penthouse unit in the 1100 N. Lake Shore Drive high rise once owned by none other than Michael Jordan. This is truly a “WOW!” listing. Since it is hitting the market March 20 I can now talk about this magnificent unit. The stunning view from the rooftop Solarium is shown above. Photos and more details will be given in the numerous print ads that are coming soon as well as on my website at melindajakovich.com!
The Spring Market is the best it has been for several years. It seems the most challenging times are behind us now, as more and more people are attending my Open Houses and more Sellers are looking to catch the wave and list their homes for the numerous buyers out there to be able to take a look! Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel, so keep those fingers crossed!
Enjoy the Amazing Weather!!
