'Reflecting' on Real Estate and the Lights of the Season!

How things change in the Real Estate market!  A few years ago I was consulting with the developers of the XO development in the South Loop, my clients Keith Giles and Jerry Karlik.  I was honored to be chosen to list and sell Jerry’s condo recently.  As you can see the plans called for one of the more striking buildings in the area, and there was excitement all around.

Unfortunately the XO building was affected by the changing market conditions, but maybe there will be hope for the land after all – Golub recently took over the plot, and even though they may wait for some time we hope to see a stunning building arise on the site yet again!

The South Loop has grown so dear to me – I can’t wait for snow to fall on the sledding hill across the street, and they’ve put the lights up at Museum Park!  The tasty restaurants along Wabash like Gioco will have their Holiday lights out, and what about our newest addition, The Scout!

Soon all of my favorite neighborhood dogs will be slushing around in their snow boots!

As I worked on another development at 416 Deming I watched a dramatic new addition to the neighborhood rise up across the street.  I’m talking about Lincoln Park 2520, the beautiful Lucien Lagrange design with its commanding view over Chicago’s back yard!  Talking about 2520 gives me another excuse to show a striking picture of how it will look from the Nature Museum!

The lights of the Holiday Season are one of my favorite sights.  Just think of the possibilities!  Tomorrow night is the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, with past year’s photos shown above.

Then there’s the Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo, beginning on November 25.  This event has become more and more dazzling every year!  Wish they would bring back ‘Caroling for the Animals’, that was lots of fun.  I hope the animals don’t miss us, the lions used to roar along while we sang!

Finally there’s the City of Lights, beautiful Paris!  I’m thrilled to be spending some time in Paris for the Holidays, and I hear they go all out.  What a scene, they have over a mile of beautiful lights leading up to the Champs de Elysees!

                         Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
