I love to check out new products from time to time and to also get updates on some of my current favorite products. It’s traveling season and time to check out some summer cat products that may make it easier to travel with your cat – Sherpa Carriers, ökocat Natural Litter and SuperCat spray catnip.
Review – I’ve been using Sherpa duffle carriers for over eight years starting with my senior kitty. They are durable, light to carry and have both a shoulder strap and handles. The sides and front are mesh for more breathability. Each year, Sherpa comes out with a variety of summer cat products to fit a variety of travel needs. Last year, Sherpa sent us the Ultimate on Wheels. I think this is a great airport option because it pulls easily, has a longer strap and is sturdy.
This year, we received an original deluxe in plum. It is every bit as durable as the original Sherpa I purchased 8 years ago. It’s lightweight to carry and the cats love to nap in it. I keep it in my office for an extra pet bed. Sherpa has Guaranteed on Board program that walks you through what you need to do to travel with your pet and to get them on board.
By the way, my cats are larger Maine Coon mixes of about 12 -14 pounds, the smaller Sherpa bags would be a tight fit for any ride longer than 20 minutes, but the medium is a good size. The original Sherpa served us well because I could hold the carrier on my lap and pet Scarlett on trips to the vet.
Review – Healthy Pets sent two sample boxes of the ökocat Natural Litter for us to try. Ellie normally takes a few days to get used to new litter, but dove into this right away. The boxes are very light and compact, and the litter doesn’t generate dust. It does clump and is flushable. I’d love to see how the long-haired version would work on my Maine Coons. This absorbed and clumped well and did a great job on odor control. It’s a great find beyond just being a summer cat product.
Review – My cats love their catnip and they also have a few favorite toys that have long since lost the scent. I tried some of the Supercat Catnip Spray on a couple of their old toys and it seemed to jump start those toys. This spray would work great to add that extra kitty oomph in their carrier or to add to toys or bedding on a trip (depending on how your cat reacts to catnip).
