There is still time left before Christmas for some celebrating to help Chicago’s homeless pets. Check out Pour for a Paw, another Ugly Sweater event, tons of adoption events aimed at getting pets home for the holidays and other holiday pet events. There’s even one last chance for a photo with Santa. Check it all out below.
Monday, December 16
Chicago – Alive Rescue’s adoption center – The Little Barn – is open for adoptions on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. Stop by and checkout the dogs and cats looking to find a forever home.
Tuesday, December 17
Chicago – Celebrate the Season at Pour for A Paw at Feast Restaurant 1616 N. Damen supporting Tree House Humane Society. For a $20 donation, you will enjoy a wine tasting and light bites. Bring donations for the pet food pantry and check out the amazing raffle at this holiday pet event.
Wednesday, December 18
Gurnee – Yes, its the dead of winter – but a sweet frozen yogurt will always hit the spot. Satisfy that sweet tooth at Berry Simple Yogurt at 5250 Grand and a dollar of each cup sold supports Waukegan Animals Getting Saved (WAGS). The promotion runs from noon until 10 p.m.
Chicago – Don’t put away that ugly sweater just yet. Stop by Parker’s Naturals at 1340-1342 E. 55th Street from 6 to 8 p.m. for their Ugly Sweater Party. You’ll get five percent of five or more items or 10 percent off ten or more items. Hot chocolate, goodies and prizes for the ugliest sweater. RSVP that you’re coming and get a stocking filled with goodies at this holiday pet event.

Chicago – Learn about how to help the community cats in your neighborhood at the Helping Community Cats Workshop at Tree House Humane Society’s Bucktown branch from 630 to 8:30. Learn about Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and discuss topics related to feral cats.
Thursday, December 19
Chicago – It isn’t officially Christmas without seeing A Christmas Carol. This classic retelling will be at the Dream Theatre at 556 West 19th Street starting at 8 p.m. It features three actors in a variety of roles and a few surprises. A percentage of tonight’s proceeds benefit the cats at Tree House Humane Society – $10 for children and $18 for adults (online).
Friday, December 20
Chicago – Do some last minute shopping at the second Late Night Andersonville and stop by Tree House for Holiday Meows. There will be great shopping and dining deals in the neighborhood. Visit Tree House in uptown for tours, treats and drinks, shelter tours and reduced adoption rates of $50 and to check out all the great decorations from lights of love.
Saturday, December 21,
Oswego – Join It’s a Pittie Rescue from 11 to 2 p.m. at Go Dog Go for an adoption event. Check out their great dogs looking for homes and shop the great cat and dog goodies at the store. Go DogGo is at 100 Main Street.
Chicago – The Little Barn – Alive Rescue’s adoption center – will be open for adoptions from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Stop by and meet the cats and dogs looking for a family and learn about the work being done by this organization.
Chicago – Will these kitties get a home for the holidays? Join Tree House Humane Society at Pet Supplies Plus North Center at 2757 North Lincoln Avenue from 11 to 3 p.m. for an adoption event. They’ll be on hand to talk about the work they do in the community and of course will have some cuddly cats looking for a new home.
