Healthier dining options hit PAWS Chicago thanks to Merrick Pet Care

Thanksgiving is less than a week away and some of Chicago’s homeless pets are getting a gourmet feast. The good news is that the Merrick Pet Care food being dished up at PAWS Chicago will be in all the pets’ bowls as of December 1 as Chicago’s largest no kill shelter and the leader in the largest natural and organic pet nutrition start a new partnership.

The first truck load of food arrived today and a few of the kittens and puppies started testing out the new menu. Merrick will be donated food to PAWS Chicago serving as the exclusive feeding partner to the shelter’s Chicago and North Shore locations (Highland Park will open next year).

That means, the pets rescued by the organization will be chowing down on food from Merrick’s kitchen from recovery day until beyond…that is because adoptive families will also leave with the food as they transition into their new home. Check out the special delivery below.

    Raining Cats and Dogs

I am a crazy cat lady and puppy mill warrior that blogs to advocate and educate about pet issues. In American animal controls, millions of pets are abandoned each year and an estimated 4 million die just because there are not enough homes. It truly seems like it’s Raining Cats and Dogs.
