Chicago pet events: July 29 to August 4

There’s plenty of summer fun on tap to help the animals as we wrap up July and head into August. It’s time to help our friends at Lulu’s Locker at the West Town Pup Crawl, Factor Models hit the runway for the Anti-Cruelty Society, and there are garage sales, BBQs and Casino Nights to help homeless pets in need. Check out details below for the many Chicago Pet Events.

Tuesday, July 30

Grab your dog and head out to another West Town Pup Crawl at the dog-friendly pubs in Chicago’s West Town from 6 to 9 p.m. Stop by Mahoney’s to meet the rescue of the week – Lulu’s Locker Rescue with special guests Art Work, Wiggle Waggles Bakery and The Honest Kitchen. A percentage of drink sales from 6 – 8 benefit the rescue.

Wednesday, July 31

Chosen and Factor Models are supporting The Anti-Cruelty Society.

Chosen and Factor Models are supporting The Anti-Cruelty Society.

Factor Models are hosting the 2nd Annual Chosen Man’s Best Friend & Factor Felines benefiting Anti-Cruelty Society. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Public Hotel at 1301 North State Parkway. $20 tickets available online or at door, includes complimentary cocktails and canapés. Armani Exchange will provide the clothing for the models.  Raffle prizes include $1000 cash, a stay at pet friendly Public Hotel, dinner at The Pump Room, and more.

Friday, August 2 & Saturday, August 3

Secondhand Snoots Rescue is having a garage sale to help pay for boarding bills.  Stop by between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 301 Washington Park in Waukegan. The organization is accepting donations all week including bake goods, drinks and more. Please email if have anything that you would like to donate or volunteer your time to help us at the sale!

Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4

Edgefest at Thorndale and Broadway in Chicago gears up for another year and this year the event goes to the dogs with a PetFest. On both days there will be plenty of great food, music and art, but on Sunday pets will take center stage for a pet pageant starting at 1:30 p.m. sponsored by the Bark Bark Club.

Saturday, August 3

The Independent Cat Society will hold a Purrfectly Pampurred Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. indoors at the Red Mill Park at 0185 South Holmesville Road in LaPorte. There will be all kinds of vendors to pamper you and your cat.

37028_552022951509135_1060728277_nK9 4 Keeps will be hosting a Craft and Trunk Show from noon until 5 at the Center on Halsted at3656 North Halsted in Chicago. Check the event listing to see the many vendors with arts, crafts and more that will be on hand.

Join  Reach Out Rescue for their 5th Annual Bow Wow BBQ at Bailey’s Crossing in Oak Lawn. Tickets are $8 per adult, $5 for kids and seniors and families of four are $25. Come with your pooch and enjoy the dog park and more.

All bets are on for Bet on a Pittie Casino Night from 5 to 10 p.m at Chicago Party Animals at 1133 West Fulton Market in Chicago. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Donation bar, buffet, casino games and so much more…all raising funds for the Pitties in the care of It’s A Pittie.
