Rockin for Rescue Vegas-Style: Raising Funds for Pets in Need

An animal rescue organization that routinely bets on the long shots is hosting their own Vegas-style fundraiser this weekend. Trio Animal Foundation’s Rockin for Rescue Vegas-Style will be at the Stadium Club at US Cellular Field on Saturday.

The doors open at 7:30 and the event features food, drinks, great music, dancing and a casino with the backdrop of the baseball park. Tickets for Rockin for Rescue Vegas-Style are $100 and include $5,000 in gambling chips and are available online. If you’d like a VIP tour of the stadium, those tickets are $200 with the behind the scenes tour starting at 6:30. (This is not a dog-friendly event.)

Trio Animal Foundation is a non-profit group that pays for medical expenses of animals in need. Those animals are taken into and adopted out through shelters and rescues. Many of the animals the organization helps have been left behind in open admission shelters. These pets face health obstacles, injuries or may be senior pets that have less of a chance at being due to costs that could be incurred by the rescuing organization.

Learn more about their work online and on their Facebook page. Some of the rescue stories that have transpired since last year’s Rockin for Rescue Vegas-Style – Filly, Eleanor, Valentine, Puggy, Hiccup and Hudson – are featured in the slide show below.

Some of the dogs were victims of abuse and the photos are graphic. The photos have been provided by TAF and most of the dogs were taken in by Project Rescue Chicago’s program.

    Raining Cats and Dogs

I am a crazy cat lady and puppy mill warrior that blogs to advocate and educate about pet issues. In American animal controls, millions of pets are abandoned each year and an estimated 4 million die just because there are not enough homes. It truly seems like it’s Raining Cats and Dogs.
