Tonight is blogapalooza, a monthly event where we get a topic and an hour to publish. Tonight’s topic is delicious:
“What fictional character (or characters) would you most like to spend time with and what would you do together?”
This was really too easy for me as I have thought about my book friends far too often. I know the authors, non fictional characters and fictional characters that are my pretend companions. My immediate thought was, I want to hang around with Stephanie Plum.
I love to read and I like to think that some of my choices are darn good books. I belong to book clubs and I even just finished Hamilton. I impressed myself – it’s a tome, it’s non fiction and it’s history. Phew!
Stephanie Plum is the main character in a series of books by Janet Evanovich. They are like the Bobbsey Twins or Babysitter Club books for adults. I own every single one, I admit it. Now back to the fantasy.
We would both have jaunty pony tails in our hair. (Yes, I know, I only have like an inch of hair but this is a fantasy.) We would drive around in her Grandpa’s old car or maybe a black Porsche.
We would grab someone who had hadn’t shown up for court. Did I mention that we are bounty hunters? Well, we are and we eat snacks.
That night we would definitely have dinner at Stephanie’s parents house, probably pot roast. I would joke with her Dad, compliment her mom on the meal and help with the dishes. Then Grandma Mazur, Stephanie and I would go to a viewing at the funeral home.
Later on, Lula would join us and we would go after a pretty dangerous criminal. Don’t worry, it would all be zany fun and if I have my way, we will solve a quilt related crime. You’ll laugh, gasp and maybe even cheer!
We will pretend that the movie never existed. Our obvious chemistry will be noted by Janet Evanovich and she will hire me to work with her on her next book. She will know that I am a true fan, a pal of Stephanie’s and have read all her books.
My idea for the 24th in the series?
I’m waiting for that email from Janet herself to reveal all.
