What do you get a quilter for her birthday? I mean, what do you get THIS quilter for her birthday? I have to admit, I have just about every present a quilter could want. You think I’m kidding? Let me tell you how indulged I am and how much good loot you can accumulate in 31 years of quilting.
I already have received great gifts which include:
- Bernina 380
- Gammill Vision Longarm
- Horn Sewing Cabinet and chair
- Gingher scissors
- Cutting mat and rotary cutters
- Aurifil thread
- Cabinets of fabulous fabric
- Oliso iron and oversized ironing board
- Featherweight sewing machine
- All kinds of nifty gadgets
I am one spoiled quilter! I know! But still it was my birthday… Last year was the big 6 0. This year was more low key.
My husband picked up pizza and my daughter got cupcakes. We all brought our own beverages.
So easy and fun. I loved it.
We listened to a Blues Brothers tribute band in the warm summer weather, got pizza grease on our faces and watched Zara dance. It was perfect.
The day before my husband took me to Woodstock, Illinois where they have two different quilt stores. He told me to get whatever I wanted.
Here it is in the back of his car. Isn’t it sew darn cute?
He also got me the Samsung gear that matches my phone. It’s a watch and also a bunch of exercise functions. It’s like a Fit bit but specifically for my phone. I love it.
Yesterday I went 2231 steps and today 5694, hurray! And I chose the background that looks the most like a quilt!
And have you ever seen such cute flash drives? He got them for me at Sew for Less. I love them!
My oldest daughter got me the newest Sue Monk Kidd book, a fabulous Clover tool for turning things inside out and the new Free Motion Quilting book.
My family knows what to get a quilter for her birthday because they ask me. I drop hints also. I have a wish list on Amazon. It helps everyone out at gift time. And when my youngest comes to visit from Portland, she will spoil me also.
Giving me presents I love? That makes my family sew happy!
