Ants Lived Alongside Dinosaurs

When Earth was ruled by dinosaurs

Of every kind and size,

The ants were crawling underfoot

Beneath their very eyes.

Tyrannosaurus Rex’s roar

Would scatter smaller prey

As colonies of ants sought food

Just as they do today.

Triceratops, Velociraptor,

The Archaeoptyrex

For aeons now have been extinct

But ants keep having sex.

  • This is delightful proof that nothing is too small for a blog post, nor for a poem! Well done!

  • Would it be too awful to coin a pun declaring that the ant is mightier than an aunt?

  • In reply to jnorto:

The GEICO house beat you to it.

  • In reply to jack:

I guess that proves it is pretty awful.

  • In reply to jnorto:

I read that an ant can life 10-50 times its weight. So any match between an ant and an aunt might make the latter cry uncle.
