Died Charles Perrault,

Wrote fairy tales*

Our children would know.

*Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Bluebeard, Puss in Boots, and Tom Thumb.  These and other tales were French folktales that were passed down from generation to generation.  Perrault was the first to give them written form.  What would Disney have done without him?

  • On your last sentence, at one time I thought Disney owned them.

  • I didn't know he wrote them down. Thank you!

  • Merci, M. Perreault! Merci, mon ami AW!
