* 14 nations were represented by 241 amateur athletes. The U.S. won the most gold medals (11) with the host country Greece finishing second (10), despite sending 169 athletes while the U.S. only 14.

  • Thank you for your Olympian effort. (Seriously, I couldn't resist.) But isn't the art a still from "Chariots of Fire," about the 1924 games in Paris? I've seen it only a few dozen times, and I might be a little out of tune lately.
