Is Kevin Nunes a clandestine acolyte of Trump?

Who was Chairman Nunes’s source?

It’s time he gets off his high horse.

But if Trump were his god,

It wouldn’t be odd

That he’d  show him  obeisance  of course.

  • Nunes is typical of many of Trump's supporters in high places. They are skilled at showing obeisance, but very unskilled at giving him quiet, effective cover. Nunes could not have been more clumsy or conspicuous in his effort to help prop up his hero. He comes off looking like a toady.

But maybe the intention was to F-- up the investigation Trump demanded, after Comey said there was no evidence. Nothing better to these folks than inventing a sideshow.

BTW, I remember someone using the insult of "from your mother's basement." Seems like he got it from Bannon, who was using a basement. Psychos engaging in projection again.

  • In reply to jack:

But if Nunes wanted to create a sideshow while preserving his own credibility, why didn't he take the information he got from the White House to his committee, but then see to it that it was "leaked?" The leak could even appear more favorable to Trump than Nunes' waffling statement to the press as he was shuffling off to see Trump.

  • In reply to jnorto:

Because he didn't want to "preserv{e} his own credibility." That's about the same as arguing that Sean Spicer wants to "preserv{e} his own credibility." As I indicated above, we aren't dealing with rational people. Combine the "in your mothers' basement" taunters with a "commander in chief" who thinks that the first job is keeping the Twitter feed going. If he wanted a clean investigation, he would have never asked for one, as obviously if there were any evidence, it would have been under the control of the Executive Branch.

  • In reply to jack:

This would prove my original point. Nunes, among other Trump supporters, is "very unskilled at giving him quiet, effective cover."

  • In reply to jnorto:

True, he's unskilled, but that doesn't seem to be a skill that any of them want. Especially the Orange Blowhard in Chief.

  • Just reported that Nunes recused himself. I guess the House will have to find someone else to befoul the investigation, although at some point, all Republicans will be recused.

  • In reply to jack:

    Exception maybe Senator McCain?

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

McCain has seemed, for the past 9 or so years, but especially the last 2, someone to be trampled upon.
