“‘I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,’ Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. ‘To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.'”   []

Colin Kaepernick refused to stand

When the national anthem was played.

He got mixed reaction across the land

But his point he effectively made.

  • From my viewpoint, I don't see why athletic events start with the National Anthem, except to make sure that José can see (apparently necessary for Futbol Americano Month). If the NFL says no problem with exercising his First Amendment rights, fine. I wonder what Ray Rice would do on NFL Pink Sweatband Day.

  • says he was adopted, which I suppose will give Dennis Byrne some solace.

  • The only effective thing Kaepernick has done is give a new narrative to why his butt is on the bench.

Maybe he should move to Kim Jack-un's North Korea where he isn't paid 19 million bucks a year, where a sit during the national anthem probably leads to never getting up again.

Deranged 4zen still misses the point that antiaircraft gun operator Kim IS A TRUMP SUPPORTER and thus the proper insult is Kim Zen Un.

Jack I empathize with your plight, but you have been insulting me for years. I'm going to lay off you buddy, and we'll see how long it takes for you to insult me just because we disagree on an issue.

And Jack in case no one has ever told you, telling someone they have cognitive issues just because they may not understand how you worded something, is an insult.

  • In reply to 4zen:

It is not if you continue junk like the Kim insult. But if you lay off, I will lay off.
