Melania's Convention address lacked truth in packaging

“A number of lines in the robustly applauded speech delivered by Melania Trump at the Republican national convention on Monday night appear to have been lifted verbatim from a speech Michelle Obama delivered at the 2008 Democratic convention.”  [the guardian.com]

She wrote her speech, Melania claims

But got some help as well.

Who helped her? She did not name names

Because it was Michelle.

  • Let's see, She didn't give it in Slovene, and I doubt took the reverse of this lesson. So did her speechwriter buy it from the same speechwriter as wrote the speech for the most hated black woman as far as the attendees at that convention are concerned or just stole it? Besides it obviously having been plagiarized, it hit me that it had nothing to do with Mel's husband's campaign.

Not even Lewandowski bought the explanation, but apparently this was exempt from his nondisparagement agreement.

  • 4drumf is back after a couple of months, and I guess he believes what Goebbels, ahem, Manafort is saying.

  • In reply to jack:

Jacka$$, where is your outrage for Obama's plagiarism?

  • In reply to 4zen:

I hate to tell you this, but he is not running for a third term. Also it is reported that he made up with Patrick. Melanoma must now apologize to Michelle.

And, I told you before, if you are going to be like your fascist hero, with only insults, don't reply to me.

  • In reply to jack:

You insulted me first hypocrite, it's right there in print. Now you must apologize to me, right Jack?

  • In reply to 4zen:

Yes, I'm sorry you are an unpaid/paid prooigandist for a losing cause. I see you aren't defending Pence's vote on thed Iran War, though.

  • In reply to 4zen:

    I meant Iraq.

  • In reply to 4zen:

BTW, it looks like you have another about 20 chicagonow blogs onto which you need to copy and paste your comment. Looks like your man isn't doing too well on the blogosphere or CNN.

  • I'm definitely against plagiarism -- but plagiarized platitudes make it even worse.

  • In reply to Margaret H. Laing:

    Good point!

  • In reply to jnorto:

    Also good allitderation.

  • Report that the lying campaign finally identified the speechwriter, but the Ministry of Propaganda would not accept her resignation.

I wonder what kills 4 more--I bet he can't live with:
McIver explained that during a phone conversation, Melania Trump read passages from Michelle Obama's speech as examples of the kind of tone she wanted to strike because she admired the first lady.

  • BREAKING NEWS: Wise and benevolent Donald J. Trump showers the world with his teachings of forgiveness! America swoons.

In Other News: God smites Jack 'the peeping tom' with OCD....again.

  • In reply to 4zen:

Why, because he won't fire the plagiarist, who, because Trump didn't separate his business from his campaign, made an illegal campaign contribution ? When is The Trump Organization going to pay you?

Also, Ben Carson and Half Pence are going to whip your adze for violating the Third Commandment. You were tearing into me for being not religious?

    BREAKING NEWS: Diagnose yourself, quack.

  • In reply to 4zen:

I see you came back but didn't repent for taking the Lord's Name in vain.

  • Was Melania there Wednesday night? My wife said she didn't see her.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Unless it was Laura Benanti on Colbert, I didn't see her. I was more into Jonathan Magnum dropping trou and Aisha Tyler doing "things you can say about golf that you can't say about your partner."

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Also, the best line of the night was Mark Cuban saying "Donald, the only way you are worth 10 billion is if I paid you 9-1/2 billion to wash my balls." I wonder if it referred to the NBA team. Doubt it.

  • In reply to jack:

I should be watching Colbert more. Yep, Trump's royalty in the kingdom of debt.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Speaking of which, Colbert yielded his desk to Jon Stewart, who had a good skewering of Lumpy Hannity and his fellow travelers, including one who posted here and another who posts the same tripe elsewhere around chicagonow.
