“Vote your conscience,” Cruz said without fun.

In the hall soon the boos had  begun.

“Was that line  in the text?”

Said the Donald, perplexed.

For he knew that he didn’t have one.

  • Was it for fun
    or has 2020 begun?

  • In reply to Kathy Mathews:

Maybe, although I really doubt that Cruz has much pull with other than the Pence voters.

What is refreshing is that Cruz showed some principle. I'm not sure what principle (cf. my previous sentence) but he at least established that he would not be the "servile puppy" of the thug. Compare that to Ryan waffling all over the place.

  • In reply to Kathy Mathews:

    Brava!

  • It appears the Progressives here will be voting for the Republican establishment candidate. Remember it's not about principle, but principal.

Wonder what they'll get in return for their lucre?

  • In reply to 4zen:

    I really doubt that.

And since you love polls how is your candidate who made the racist comment "Oh, look at my African-American over here. Look at him," going to overcome the poll that said that Trump is pulling 0% of the Black vote in Electoral College swing states?

Paid spokesperson and spammer for his campaign, you still haven't said:
    1. How much you are being paid?
    2. What you think about Melania admiring an Obama?

Until you do, go back into your hole.

  • And poor Bernie never had a chance. It most be appalling to learn the DNC conspired against him, especially with establishment Republicans over at the WSJ.

Why doesn't the DNC like secular Jews?

  • In reply to 4zen:

A variation of "When did you stop beating your wife?"

  • In reply to 4zen:

Go marry one, then. You and your candidate have proven that you aren't the World Jewish Congress or the ADL. Quit acting like you are, phony.

  • In reply to 4zen:

I thought over my prior comment and retract it. Instead:

I see that you sew divisiveness by bringing up Sanders's religion into a political feud when it is otherwise unwarranted. You have accused others of being anti-Semitic with no basis.Yet you support a demagogue who uses anti-Semitic language and imagery, and retweets from hate groups. The only conclusion is that you are projecting, and you a are an anti-Semite. As a Jew, I can tell you the Jews don't need friends like you.

Before you stir up more division and hate, my mother suggests you visit the Illinois Holocaust Museum and learn about the Jews and the bigots.

Until you show such recognition, your posts are highly offensive.

I am not kidding about this.

  • In reply to 4zen:

but I will try including an end tag

  • I actually like that line about voting one's conscience -- possibly the first time I have agreed with Sen. Cruz. My conscience isn't letting me agree with voting for either (major) candidate.

  • Margaret, I agree about voting one's conscience. John K. Galbraith once wrote "Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists in choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable."

That's why I'll vote for Hillary. Though not entirely to my taste.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Which means, by your given quote, you're voting for 'disastrous.'

There is no conscience in your vote. You vote Democrat no matter what, regardless of what the candidate really believes. Admit it.

  • In reply to 4zen:

On the contrary. It means that voting for Trump would be disastrous.

Look, 4zen, if your conscience tells you to vote for a bigoted, narcissistic, egomaniacal, xenophobic, blustering, duplicitous, aspiring fascist strongman, go right ahead.. I cherish my country and its future much more than that.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

...who is acting like a 3 year old child who wants attention because his diaper is full.

I've already discussed whether the poster in question has a conscience.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

To prove "duplicitous" there are stories today that Trump wants Russia to hack the State Dept. e-mail server (even though the FBI has it off line), but then denies Putin is his friend or that he had anything to do with the Russian hack of the DNC server. Pulease!

Only a certain part of the electorate is dumb enough to accept that horse hockey.

  • In reply to jack:

Certainly not the tin foil hat tighty whitey part of the electorate, huh Jack?

How could a bigoted, narcissistic, egomaniacal, xenophobic, blustering, duplicitous, aspiring fascist strongman so easily turn the party of science into the party of paranoia?

  • In reply to 4zen:

    Sure, 4Nazi.

BTW, after I saw your "you're voting for 'disastrous" comment to AW above that Drumpf said the same thing earlier in the day at his "press conference." So, you have abdicated what little brain you have left to him.

And BTW, the Tea Party and those Republicans in Congress you hate did what you said before your fuehrer did.

  • In reply to jack:

Okay Kim Jack-un, it's obvious you're too rattled for grown up discourse. Have you been mixing cough syrup in your tub of butter again?

  • In reply to 4zen:

Yes, 4Nazi, projection seems to be your thing. Not an original thought, though.

  • In reply to 4zen:

In the meantime, Kim Jung Un backs Herr Drumpf. Thug life and all that.

You aren't even competent with your insults. Get some help, seriously.
