Are we watching Trump do in the GOP?

Baby elephant playing

Some say the Republican Party is dying.

And Trump has it gasping for breath.

It cannot believe what its base now is buying.

Like taking political meth.

And now in a panic, it’s wherefore-and-whying,

While Democrats wait for its death.

  • Article (reported elsewhere, but Hollywood Reporter is the primary source) where a Simpsons writer noted that a 2000 episode with Trump as President : "And that just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom. It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane." (emphasis didn't need to be added).

In the meantime, I said on Berkowitz that I didn't care if the national Republican party self destructs, and 4zen said it was his goal, so I guess all 3 of us are happy.

And unless the Senate jerks act on the nomination of the nice guy from Linconlnwood, either President Hillary or President Lisa will appoint the next Supreme Court Justice.

  • In reply to jack:

Prophetic. I wonder what Alan Simpson's reaction is.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Don't know, but there was "all that Simpson DNA" in the "Who Shot Mr. Burns" episode. Also, I don't think Monty's political organization backs the current plutocrat.

  • One problem Trump avoided by selling out to Ari Emanuel: Miss Universe Puerto Rico Comes Out as Scopophobic.

I'm sure you and Margaret Serious can figure that one out.

  • In reply to jack:

The etymology didn't ring a bell until I read what it was. It used to be called being shy.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Looking it up it seems a more intense physical reaction.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Well, we reacted the same way, anyway. Shyness is a better word, and seems worth defending these days.

  • Well put, Aquinas, as ever. But if the Republicans are going away, what will we have left?

  • In reply to Margaret H. Laing:

    The Left.
