That reminded me that in fact, Otto was one of the many musicians, artists, and intellectuals who had to flee Nazism, as verified by his obit.*
Of course, we know Werner better, and the conceit of Hogan's Heroes was that all the Nazis were Jews (and some of the prisoners, too).
