On Friday, Benedict XVI Takes a New Title




A pope who quits—so rare it is—
Will now be called “Emeritus”.
Which all  must  do when they’ve a mind to.
Something that Benedict’s resigned to.

    Now the question is whether he will continue to make his namesake liqueur.

  • On a related note, I was sitting in the waiting room at an oil change place in Niles when a woman sat down reading "Jesus by Joseph Ratzinger, Pope Benedict XVI" when Alan Krashesky (Gesundheit) came on Channel 7 and said that the Pope had resigned. I told her that she didn't need to read the book any more, but she said something about it having enduring spirituality.

    I had to look that up (I guess that is why you are Aquinas wired), but after doing so, my conclusion is that that usually occurs in connection with bruschetta.
