From the campaign of John Bambenek for State Senate (52nd District)…
Now that the various primary races are over, it’s time to turn our attention to the General Election. As I’ve traveled across the 52nd district, I keep hearing the same things. Frustration with the dysfunction in Springfield, outrage over tax increase after tax increase and concern that jobs are leaving the state never to return. We can make a difference.
This election will provide voters a choice, a choice between tax hikes or tax cuts. A choice between a government that keeps spending beyond its means or a government that will balance its budget and pay our past due bills and debts. A choice between a government that fosters job creations and a thriving economy and one that looks for more was to extract money from businesses and hard working families.
When I entered this race, my chief concern was what kind of state would be there for my children when they grown up (they’re 5, 3 and 1 now). The budgets we pass and bills we write will be paid for by them… and by your children. When my children are grown, will they be able to find work here? Will they be able to build there American dream here? I think it’s possible but it takes a change which is why I got involved and why I hope you will as well.
Indiana was in similar straits just a few years ago and they turned it around. In Illinois, we can to. We know what the answers are, we just need leaders who have the political courage to enact those answers into law. And that is my commitment to you. If you send me to Springfield as your Senator, I will never stop fighting for you and to turn this state around.
Make no mistake, however, this race will be difficult. Interests from around the state will be funnelling money in… interests who are happy with the status quo. And that is why I need you help. Whether it is to
walk precincts, stuff envelops, make phone calls or with donations. On March 31st is an important campaign finance deadline and your donation today of $250, $100 or $50 can tell Springfield you mean business (Donate online here: http://tinyurl.com/JohnFor52). If you are unable to donate, please consider volunteering for the campaign.
We have a choice this year and we can turn our state around. Can I count on your support?
