… Bureau, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, LaSalle, Lee, Livingston, Putnam, Stark & Will Chairmen Endorse Kinzinger

NEW LENOX, IL – With less than three weeks left until the Republican primary election, Congressman Adam Kinzinger’s momentum continues to build this week as he receives another major endorsement from Lee County Republican Chairman Greg Witzleb, marking the tenth Republican County Chairman of the new 16th District to support Kinzinger. Although the Lee County Republican Chairman does not typically endorse, Witzleb said he is impressed by Congressman Kinzinger’s fresh approach and commitment to service.

“A little over one year ago, Congressman Kinzinger went to Washington and put his fresh, conservative ideas into action,” said Witzleb. “He led the charge to ban earmarks, cut spending and works tirelessly to restore government back to the people. He’s been a fiscal hawk, fighting against the status quo and holding Congress accountable for their decades of reckless spending.”

“Over the last few months, I’ve seen Kinzinger’s strong commitment to the people of Lee County,” continued Witzleb. “He stays in touch with us; he’s here constantly holding open town hall forums and cares about what we have to say. Kinzinger has a strong passion to serve both in uniform and in Congress. He will be an accessible Congressman who is back home constantly meeting with us and will effectively advocate for the thoughts, ideas and needs of Lee County in Washington. Congressman Kinzinger represents the future of the Republican Party.”

Kinzinger’s strong backing comes from both new and old supporters across the district. In addition to the Lee County Republican Chairman’s endorsement, Congressman Kinzinger has also received the support from nine of the fourteen Republican county chairmen including: Bureau, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, LaSalle, Livingston, Putnam, Stark and Will counties.

“I’m humbled and energized to have such strong support all across Lee County from conservative leaders like Greg,” said Kinzinger. “This echoes the growing support I’ve received from folks across the district who are looking for a fresh conservative voice in Congress.

“In order to advocate on behalf of the people, our district needs a representative who is home in Illinois as soon as congressional business concludes each week. My home is Illinois and I have the energy and drive to travel throughout the district and bring a new generation of representation to the 16th District.”

Adam Kinzinger is a freshman serving in the United States Congress. He was sworn into Congress in January 2011 and was named to the Energy and Commerce Committee, the House Transition Team and is a Republican Deputy Whip. Kinzinger also serves in the Air National Guard, while in Congress, with the current rank of Captain.
