Cook County Republican Party Announces Appointment of Dennis Cook as New Executive Director

Cook will spearhead day to day operations of the Cook County Republican Party under the Direction of Chairman Sig Vaznelis

Chicago, IL — February 6, 2012 — Today Cook County Republican Party Chairman Sig Vaznelis, announced the appointment of Dennis Cook to the position of Executive Director, effective immediately. In this role, Cook will lead the day-to-day operations of the Cook County Republican Party under the direction of the Chairman.

“Today I am excited to announce Dennis Cook as the new Executive Director of the Cook County Republican Party,” said Vaznelis. “Dennis’ substantial real-world experience as an entrepreneur, public policy advocate and candidate for office will be brought to bear at a critical time for our organization. We are honored by his willingness to step into this incredibly demanding role, and are excited about the energy and ideas that Dennis will inject into the Cook County GOP.”

Cook is founder and President of Strive Strategies. Previously, Cook served as the President of the Consolidated District 230 Board of Education, which is the 7th largest high school district in Illinois. As President of the District 230 Board, he oversaw a budget in excess of $140 million and more than 1,000 employees. During his time in office, Dennis led the Board from a $3 million deficit to a $4 million surplus in less than 3 years, while improving the quality of education.

registered voters in our state, and our path to transforming Illinois from an economic laggard to leader begins in Cook County. Cook is a graduate of Ohio State University and is married to his wife Amy and has three Children Maggie, Katie, and Chris .
