From the office of Rep. Robert Dold (Ill., 10th District)…
WASHINGTON, DC –U.S. Congressman Robert J. Dold (IL-10) released a video statement on his efforts to reach out to small business owners and hear directly from them.
Dold, along with Rep. Ted Deutch (R, FL) sent a letter to Congressional leaders on sanctioning the Central Bank of Iran.
WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Robert Dold (IL-10) and Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-19), sent the below letter to Congressional leadership. The letter urges House and Senate conference committee leaders for the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 to include in the final conference report the Menendez-Kirk amendment to sanction the Central Bank of Iran. This provision works by prohibiting foreign financial institutions from opening or maintaining a correspondent account in the United States if they also knowingly conduct any significant financial transaction with the Central Bank of Iran. As the leadership in Iran defiantly continues its efforts to obtain a nuclear weapon, it is critical that the United States continues to raise the bar and take the lead to ensure that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapon capabilities.
