Sean Morrison Launches Online Property Tax Petition‏

From the campaign for Morrison for Cook County Board of Review…

Cook County, IL, December 1, 2011– Businessman Sean M. Morrison has launched an online petition, “Lower our Cook County Property Taxes Now” and is calling on citizens to send a message to incumbent politicians across Cook County. Morrison, who filed more than 7,000 signatures on Monday to run for the Cook County Board of Review, says he is fed-up with the status quo, pay-to-play mentality on taxes that has become routine in Illinois.

“It’s time for Cook County homeowners to put their foot down on the property tax increases,” said Morrison. He argues that Board of Review commissioners have the ability to lobby the Illinois General Assembly and be a force for change.

“One homeowner in Oak Lawn saw her home lose more than $100,000 in value in five years yet her property tax bill went up $3,000,” says Morrison.

Morrison’s goal is to gather 10,000 signatures and to help homeowners send a message to incumbent politicians that enough is enough. To view Morrison’s petition, visit
