A Third Republican In The 8th District Congressional Race

-By Warner Todd Huston

Next up for the 8th District is Andrew Polomo, father of two, and resident of South Barrington. Polomo, a businessman, mortgage broker and certified financial planner. He announced his candidacy in August and has the support of some local Tea Party folks.

Polomo is running on a pro-business platform and has said that his “knowledge base is exactly what we need now.”

Polomo also told Keith Liscio that he is anti-tax, pro-life, pro-gun, and in favor of repealing and replacing Obamacare.

As Liscio has it: “On achieving victory, he’s a Republican demographer’s dream. He’s a successful businessman born of immigrant parents; a Jewish mother and Mexican father. Asked about potential outreach to those groups, he said, ‘I don’t think in those terms. I’m an American. The principals I believe in are good for all Americans.'”
