The Simple Math of Socialism

If you’re like me, there’s nothing you enjoy more than listening to politicians you can’t trust try to explain legislation they haven’t read by arguing about accounting models they don’t understand lifted from government agencies they manipulate that leave you with tax bills you can’t afford.

That about sums up the last two months of debate on health care.

Obamacare will either increase or decrease federal deficits by a half-trillion dollars over the next 10 years. Small businesses will be hurt by the tax increases but helped by the tax credits. Only those making more than or less than $250,000 per year will see their taxes go up.

If you are a regular schnook simply trying to get by and file your income taxes on time, it is easy to get lost in the conflicting testimony offered by each party’s phalanx of wonks, actuaries and Poindexters (oh my!) on the cable news channels and Sunday talkies…
