In recent years, we have heard and learned a lot about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), which is defined as a type of anxiety disorder that occurs after extreme emotional trauma that has involved the threat of injury or death. The condition is frequently associated with military veterans, but civilians and first responders can also struggle with symptoms after witnessing and/or surviving traumatic events. The blog's goals are two-fold: Create an open forum (an online support group, if you will) to spark constructive and helpful dialog for those of us to cope with PTSD, and foster a greater understanding of the disorder through clinical, scientific, and expert research and opinion.
