As it prepares for a Saturday showdown with another nationally ranked team, Southern Illinois lands at No. 18 in this week’s Stats Perform FCS poll.

The Salukis did not play this past weekend yet dropped two spots in the poll. Head coach Nick Hill’s team (4-3) will host 17th-ranked Southeastern Louisiana (4-2) Saturday at Saluki Stadium in a game that was just finalized last week.

The Lions jumped six slots in the poll after a 52-45 win at then-No. 18 Nicholls Saturday.

Saturday’s upcoming game replaces the Western Illinois contest, which was originally scheduled for April 10, until the Leathernecks opted out of their season on April 5.

Prairie State Pigskin will provide more SIU coverage later this week.
