MADISON, Wis. —
Regulators will hold a series of meetings next month to educate the mixed martial arts industry about new regulations governing the sport.
Gov. Jim Doyle earlier this year signed a bill that gives the Department of Regulation and Licensing the authority to oversee the sport for the first time.
The agency says the rules will govern qualifications of referees and judges, weight classes, bond requirements, promoter fees and duties and cage specifications.
