About Carrie Goldman

Carrie Goldman, who writes Portrait of an Adoption, is the author of the multiple award-winning book Bullied: What Every Parent, Teacher, and Kid Needs to Know About Ending the Cycle of Fear (Harper Collins, 2012).

Carrie Goldman and co-author Juliet Bond are excited about the publication of their new children's fictional adoption book series, Jazzy's Quest. The first book is called Jazzy's Quest: Adopted and Amazing (Marcinson Press, 2015). The second book, Jazzy's Quest: What Matters Most, will be published in November 2015. Carrie writes one of the nation's premier adoption blogs, Portrait of an Adoption, which has followers in more than 45 countries.

Carrie has written for The New York Times, CNN, Huffington Post, Psychology Today, Adoption.net, Altternet, Babble, and many other sites.  Her parenting expertise has been featured on NPR, BBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNN Headline News, HLN, and countless other media outlets.

Carrie is a co-founder of the Pop Culture Hero Coalition, a licensed nonprofit that teaches students how to act as witnesses and allies instead of bystanders when they witness bullying.  In addition to raising awareness about adoption issues, she travels around the country speaking to corporations, schools, and communities about bullying prevention, and she runs workshops for people of all ages on how to deal with bullying, cyberbullying, and social conflict.

Carrie received her B.S. from Northwestern University and her M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management.  She lives in Illinois with her husband and three daughters.
